Our way of doing business
Lightspeed creates products to protect and save lives.
We are a premium aviation-centric headset brand for pilots who want high performance gear to maximize the comfort and safety of their flying experience. We commit to learning from and educating ourselves, our customers, and our markets in order to provide the ultimate in personal safety and communications solutions.
We design and manufacture technologically advanced Active Noise Reduction (ANR) aviation headsets and aviation helmet systems engineered to provide you the quietest possible environment, unparalleled comfort, and crystal-clear communications, making your flights safer and more enjoyable.
We also create supplemental pilot supplies for the serious and discerning aviator. These include the Adventure Flight Bag Collection, and the Lightspeed Aviation Survival kit.
As a company of pilots and flight enthusiasts, we strive to know our customers well and deliver an innovative in-flight experience. Our dedicated staff works together daily at our headquarters in Lake Oswego, Oregon in support of this mission, ensuring that everything we do has a personal touch.
A history of innovation
With the unveiling of our first product at the 1996 EAA AirVenture — the innovative K series ANR headset — setting the standard became Lightspeed tradition. The XL series introduced Auto Shutoff™ in 2000. The Thirty 3G headset brought wired music and cell phone, along with intercom priority muting and a treble/bass EQ setting, in 2003. Lightspeed’s top engineering talent created the first Zulu in 2007, bringing a breakthrough in ergonomics, quieting, audio performance, and advanced features like full Bluetooth® integration.
The next decade brought great leaps in innovation, with Lightspeed engineers creating products like Sierra, a top-of-the-line ANR headset offered at a budget price, and Tango, the first wireless aviation headset. The Zulu series offers premium ANR and comfort with the best-selling Zulu 3 headset earning the honor of being the most durable, most comfortable headset Lightspeed has ever made and the next evolution of the Zulu series – the Zulu 4 – built for pilots who demand more comfort, audio clarity, and flexibility.

The introduction of the Lightspeed Delta Zulu® launched the next generation of aviation headsets and provides powerful safety and customization features layered on top of industry leading ANR technology, including built in CO detection and customizable hearing profiles, to create a whole new category of safety for aviation headsets. It not only enhances flying enjoyment but, most importantly, helps save pilots’ lives!
Lightspeed technology, past and present, represents a legacy of innovation and an unparalleled commitment to supporting our customers’ passions to provide them with the best aviation products available.
