Lightspeed has added a feature to its latest headset, the Zulu 4, that pilots have asked about for some time now. The Zulu 4 now has the ability to connect to two Bluetooth devices at the same time. This new Dual Bluetooth functionality lets you rapidly switch from music or in-flight notifications on your tablet to making a phone call without the hassle of disconnecting and reconnecting your devices.
Using the Zulu 4’s multipoint Bluetooth feature is easy: just pair the second device to your headset exactly as you did the first.
As a quick reminder of how to do this, hold the Bluetooth button for 2-5 seconds. When in pairing mode, the Bluetooth LED will flash alternating red and blue lights on your headset controller. Navigate to your first device’s Bluetooth menu to connect the Zulu 4 headset. Then repeat this step to connect your second device. If you already have two devices paired with your Zulu 4, the first device you connected will just drop off.
With two devices connected, simply pause audio on the currently active device then start audio on your second device and Zulu 4 will automatically switch. And if you need to change paired devices repeat the pairing process again and your oldest connected device will be replaced.
